Zulmasuchus querejazus

A smaller Sebecid from the Early Paleocene of Bolivia. Zulmasuchus, despite its size, was one of the top predators of its environment. Though the Cenozoic is considered by many "The Age of Mammals", most mammals from the very beginning of the Era remained small through the Paleocene; allowing Sebecids such as Zulmasuchus to assume niches that would have once been taken by the non-avian theropods before.
